Brief History of the Formation of DALi

Once upon a time, a 14-year old boy named Aaron Bowen bought a drum set. His neighbour, who had just gotten a guitar, started to jam with Aaron. They formed a band called, "Priest Punks," and were later called "Within it". A sad day came for Within It when Aaron's nameless neighbour moved. This forced the band's breakup, leaving Aaron all alone with his drum set.

Aaron's passion for music continued to grow and at the age of 16 went out and bought an 8-track. He started to write a lot of his own music, basically all consisting of a progression of the same 3 power chords, and started to record them, calling his one-man band "DALi," after that famous pioneer of surrealism, Salvador Dali.

After Aaron recorded several songs, he brought some copies to a young lad named Luke Dreyer to listen to, since he had no other friends. Luke was delighted and soon their chill times became massive jam sessions. Aaron would play his guitar and Luke would play Aaron's drums. Of course, by now their catchy new songs consisted of complex 4 power chord progressions.

They played their first gig in front of a live audience at an event called, "PJ Palooza", which was held before the summer of 2002. At PJ Palooza, they went up against other bands that doubled their size in members but still managed to receive second place. Meanwhile...

A young, attractive male, around 5'9" and 140 lbs, was starting to be very intrigued with making music. This young man's name was Lucas Spicer. Lucas played bass guitar for worship teams at his church, but still didn't even own his own bass. He had acoustic and electric guitars however, and badly wanted to start a band. After numerous attempts and break-ups, Lucas started to think that maybe his bands weren't meant to be, but then at a concert in the summer of 2002, Lucas reacquainted with an old baseball friend, the afore-mentioned Luke Dreyer. They chatted it up and Lucas later met Aaron at the same concert. Finding out they were in a band and that they were in need of a bass player, Lucas offered his assistance, which led to his eventual place as the final piece of the band now known as DALi.

DALi, in its final formation, had their first official practice December 27th, 2002, when Lucas bought his first bass guitar. DALi had their first concert as a complete band a week after their first practice, January 3rd, 2003 with Pure Nard and Straight Edge (two amazing bands.)

Now throwing down song after song, and playing them at ever-more-frequent shows, DALi know how to turn any concert into a rockin' good time!
